Regulatory & Compliance Counsel

Responsibilities

• Advise the business on Italian banking, investment services, and consumer protection law
• Support the localisation of group policies, procedures, and operational processes for the Italian branch
• Support the Italian AML Officer on AML and financial crime matters, including CDD/EDD and risk assessments
• Review new products, features, and marketing campaigns for compliance with Italian transparency rules
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the branch
• Support the handling of customer-facing and authority-driven processes, including complaints and legal-operational matters
• Conduct legal and regulatory research on banking and investment topics

Requirements

• Law degree
• Proven experience in legal or compliance functions at a bank, fintech, or law firm
• Deep understanding of Italian banking transparency (TUB), investment services (TUF/MiFID II), and consumer protection
• Familiarity with the three lines of defense model and Italian AML framework (D.Lgs. 231/2007)
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical operational guidance
• Full professional fluency in Italian and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in AML, CDD/EDD, or transaction monitoring
• Experience with regulatory authority requests, audits, or remediation tracking
• Prior experience in a branch network, fintech, or cross-border financial services environment
