Regulatory and Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure products are developed, manufactured, and distributed in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Manage and conduct internal and external compliance audits aligned with local, corporate, and legal requirements.
• Develop and enact regulatory compliance policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Monitor compliance and facilitate interventions to manage organizational risks.
• Provide support for the generation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), labels, and tremcards.
• Coordinate regulatory compliance requirements across various organizational structures.
• Keep abreast of local and international regulatory changes and their impact on business operations.
• Manage incident management and non-conformances related to regulatory compliance.
• Provide training in regulatory and compliance practices and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Regulatory/Compliance/Risk specialization, or a BSc/Bachelor in Technology (Chemistry/Engineering).
• At least 5 years of experience as a regulatory compliance specialist or in a similar role.
• 5–10 years of experience within a chemical manufacturing plant or related process manufacturing industry.
• Advanced knowledge of the Globally Harmonised System (GHS) regarding SDS and label development.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
• Knowledge of product regulations pertaining to NSF, FDA, REACH, Food Safety, and others.
• Familiarity with South African Regulatory Requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
