About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive daily operations supporting product development, legislative compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Respond to inquiries from state insurance departments, federal regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Research, review, and interpret laws, regulations, and bulletins to determine business impact.
- Provide subject matter expertise for new product development and draft compliant contract text.
- Manage regulatory filings, including product form, rate, and single-case filings.
- Coordinate and investigate consumer complaints and regulatory market conduct examinations.
- Summarize regulatory issues and communicate findings to operational business partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years of related business experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of regulatory experience.
- Proficient understanding of the insurance industry and its compliance environment.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SharePoint and data analytics/reporting.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Unum Group and its insuring subsidiaries.
