Registered Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate medical care and support for patients
• Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories and perform basic exam procedures
• Perform venipuncture and intravenous (IV) catheter placement
• Execute digital radiology (X-ray) including proper positioning
• Conduct complete dental procedures including scaling, polishing, charting, and digital X-rays
• Assist with general anesthesia and surgical procedures, including induction, intubation, and monitoring
• Utilize laboratory skills such as microscope cytology and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide education and service

Requirements

• 1+ years of clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
• Active California RVT license in good standing, or eligibility to become licensed within 3 months of hire
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work a schedule of five 8-hour shifts, including some weekend coverage

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
• Experience performing dental extractions as allowed by licensure
