About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care for small animals, birds, and exotic species
- Perform anesthesia monitoring, including intubation and pre-operative/post-operative care
- Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
- Execute technical skills such as IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages, and splints
- Conduct laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and team members regarding animal behavior and healthcare
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
- Colorado RVT license or eligibility to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
- Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- Strong skills in IV and urinary catheter placement
- Experience with laboratory diagnostics and radiology
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
