Registered Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care for small animals, birds, and exotic species
• Perform anesthesia monitoring, including intubation and pre-operative/post-operative care
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
• Execute technical skills such as IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages, and splints
• Conduct laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
• Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• Maintain excellent communication with clients and team members regarding animal behavior and healthcare

Requirements

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
• Colorado RVT license or eligibility to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
• Strong skills in IV and urinary catheter placement
• Experience with laboratory diagnostics and radiology

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
