About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals
- Perform anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance, including intubation and pre/post-operative care
- Execute dental procedures such as scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
- Manage laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Handle IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, and the application of casts, bandages, and splints
- Ensure proper animal handling and restraint for a wide variety of species
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Colorado, or eligibility to transfer/acquire a state license within 3 months
- Proficiency with industry tools, equipment, and diagnostic technology
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and healthcare needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
