Registered Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals
• Perform anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance, including intubation and pre/post-operative care
• Execute dental procedures such as scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
• Manage laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
• Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• Handle IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, and the application of casts, bandages, and splints
• Ensure proper animal handling and restraint for a wide variety of species

Requirements

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Colorado, or eligibility to transfer/acquire a state license within 3 months
• Proficiency with industry tools, equipment, and diagnostic technology
• Strong understanding of animal behavior and healthcare needs
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
