About the role
Responsibilities
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories and perform basic exam procedures
- Perform venipuncture and intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Execute digital radiology (X-ray) including proper patient positioning
- Conduct complete dental procedures including digital X-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions
- Assist with general anesthesia and surgical procedures, including induction, intubation, monitoring, and aseptic technique
- Utilize laboratory skills including microscopy for ear and fecal cytology and operating in-house laboratory equipment
- Perform technician appointments independently with accurate medical record documentation
- Provide excellent client communication and education regarding pet care
Requirements
- Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in the state of California
- 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint (Fear Free certification preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples
- Experience with industry-standard veterinary tools and equipment
