About the role

Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories and perform basic exam procedures
  • Perform venipuncture and intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Execute digital radiology (X-ray) including proper patient positioning
  • Conduct complete dental procedures including digital X-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions
  • Assist with general anesthesia and surgical procedures, including induction, intubation, monitoring, and aseptic technique
  • Utilize laboratory skills including microscopy for ear and fecal cytology and operating in-house laboratory equipment
  • Perform technician appointments independently with accurate medical record documentation
  • Provide excellent client communication and education regarding pet care

Requirements

  • Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in the state of California
  • 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience
  • Proficiency in animal handling and restraint (Fear Free certification preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples
  • Experience with industry-standard veterinary tools and equipment
