About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders through polysomnography and patient education
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify specific physical and mental needs
  • Prepare, calibrate, and maintain equipment required for testing to ensure proper functioning
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted standards and perform physiologic calibrations
  • Perform polysomnographic data acquisition and monitor study-tracing quality to ensure artifact-free signals
  • Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, to facilitate scoring and interpretation
  • Implement appropriate interventions for patient safety, such as continuous or bi-level positive airway pressure and oxygen administration
  • Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center-specific protocols and professional guidelines
  • Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist certification
  • Current CPR or BCLS certification
  • Proven ability to communicate medical information to non-medically trained individuals
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with an emphasis in Polysomnography or an accredited Polysomnography Program
  • 6+ months of professional experience in sleep technology
