Registered Respiratory Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory assessments and management plans for patients with respiratory conditions
• Manage care for mechanically ventilated patients with tracheostomies in accordance with Centre guidelines
• Perform airway management, tracheostomy tube management, and oxygen therapy assessments
• Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
• Provide clinical leadership during Code Blue events
• Identify and address the educational needs of patients and families
• Participate in student supervision and provide training to external partners
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
• 1 to 2 years of related clinical experience
• Membership in CSRT/RTSO
• Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation and general computer skills
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and manage a flexible schedule (days, evenings, nights, and weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
