Registered Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent nursing care within the Day Surgery Unit
• Apply nursing process knowledge to achieve patient goals for less complex care needs
• Identify and recognize abnormal or unusual patient responses and consult with the healthcare team
• Ensure practice is consistent with CNO professional standards and UHN policies
• Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve quality of patient care
• Perform cross-functional responsibilities as assigned by the clinical manager

Requirements

• Completion of an approved Registered Practical Nursing program
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RPN
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Current medication certificate meeting CNO standards
• Required experience in Acute Care or Surgical settings
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience working on a Neurovascular unit
