Registered Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice
• Use current theoretical and research knowledge to implement care within an interdisciplinary team
• Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums, rounds, and family conferences
• Provide mentorship to RPN students and new staff members on the unit
• Comply with patient safety responsibilities, hospital plans, policies, and procedures

Requirements

• Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Computer literacy in word processing and Electronic Patient Record systems
• Effective problem recognition, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Recent related clinical experience is preferred
