Registered Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice
• Use current theoretical and research knowledge to implement care
• Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums and rounds
• Provide mentorship to RPN students and new staff
• Participate in professional, program, and hospital-wide initiatives
• Comply with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies

Requirements

• Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Recent related clinical experience preferred
• Effective problem recognition and decision making skills
• Computer literacy in word processing and Electronic Patient Record
• Working knowledge of CNO standards of practice
