Registered Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process knowledge to achieve patient goals for less complex care needs
• Identify and recognize abnormal or unusual patient responses and consult with the healthcare team
• Provide care for highly complex patients in consultation with the directing Registered Nurse
• Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and ethical frameworks
• Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve quality of care
• Perform cross-functional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Completion of an approved Registered Practical Nursing program including practicum
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
• Current medication certificate meeting CNO standards
• Ability to work in a professional and courteous manner
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Proficiency with computer systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience working with adult acute care medicine patients
