Registered Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice
• Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums, rounds, and family conferences
• Use current theoretical and research knowledge to implement care plans
• Provide mentorship to RPN students and new staff members on the unit
• Comply with patient safety responsibilities, hospital policies, and procedures
• Participate in professional development and hospital-wide initiatives

Requirements

• Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Demonstrated computer literacy, including experience with Electronic Patient Records (EPR)
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Commitment to team success and continuous professional development

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent related clinical experience in a hospital or transitional care setting
