About the role
Responsibilities
- Apply nursing process knowledge to achieve patient goals for less complex care needs
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unusual patient responses and consult with the RN or healthcare team
- Provide aspects of care for highly complex patients in close consultation with the directing Registered Nurse
- Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve the quality of nursing and patient care
- Perform cross-functional responsibilities as assigned by the Nurse Manager
Requirements
- Completion of an approved Registered Practical Nursing program, including practicum experience
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
- Current medication certificate meeting CNO standards of practice
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective time management
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent experience working on a General Internal Medicine Unit
