About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide optimum care services related to resident care needs
- Deliver skilled procedures and medication administration
- Maintain documentation in accordance with quality management and legislative requirements
- Lead unregulated healthcare workers and manage resident home areas
- Ensure resident safety in accordance with organizational vision and mission
Requirements
- Registered Practical Nurse certification by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum one-year experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred
- Knowledge of Long-Term Care legislation and Resident’s Bill of Rights
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, email, and computerized documentation
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Post graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration
- Advanced computer skills in nursing systems such as Point Click Care
