Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing and personal care in accordance with CNO standards and resident care plans
• Apply evidence-informed decision making to support residents’ physical, psychological, and social needs
• Ensure family and resident-centered care that promotes dignity and autonomy
• Support safe and timely admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Maintain accountability for the secure administration and control of medications and treatments, including narcotics
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and provide guidance to PSWs
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies following established protocols
• Contribute to a culture of safety and quality improvement

Requirements

• Current and active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility to work various shift lengths (8 or 12 hours)
• Ability to work in different units within a healthcare facility based on staffing needs
• Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
