Registered Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing and checking medications in accordance with Ontario College of Pharmacists guidelines
• Perform technical aspects of prescriptions and receive verbal prescriptions as permitted by regulatory standards
• Manage prescription billing through pharmacy software, including third-party billing, co-payments, and coordination of benefits
• Handle inventory management, reconciliation, and accurate medication preparation
• Maintain site calendars, appointment schedules, and dispensing/shipping timelines
• Provide exemplary customer service and conduct patient follow-up calls for outstanding accounts
• Monitor site temperatures and report variances to the operations manager
• Maintain accurate data entry and professional relationships with healthcare providers and payers

Requirements

• College Pharmacy Technician Diploma
• Current registration with the College of Pharmacists

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting
• Experience in Ontario retail pharmacy practice, including knowledge of biologics and specialty medications
• Understanding of third-party billing issues
• Validated aseptic training
