About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in various ambulatory care settings, primarily within Internal Medicine Specialty Clinics.
- Assess patient needs and assist with medical issues related to health concerns.
- Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient messages.
- Utilize electronic protocol databases to assess, educate, and document health information accurately.
- Collaborate with providers to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various diagnoses.
- Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote continuity of care.
- Assist with patient flow, telephone management, and patient/family education.
- Participate in performance improvement activities related to clinic and institutional goals.
Requirements
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN).
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience working with adult medicine patients.
- Two (2) years of RN experience within the last three (3) years in adult inpatient medical/surgical units, ICU, or Ambulatory Care.
- Two (2) years of RN experience within the last five (5) years in an ambulatory care or GI procedural setting.
- Proficiency with MiChart/Epic electronic health record management and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical issues using assessment skills and evidence-based interventions.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree.
- Ambulatory Care experience with telephone triage and symptom management within the last two (2) years.
- Experience serving as a float RN.
- Experience performing patient education for individuals and/or groups.
