About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery and High Risk units
- Deliver care for obstetrical triage, antepartum, intrapartum, peri-operative, postpartum, and peri-anesthesia patients
- Collaborate with clerical staff, patient care technicians, and surgical technologists
- Adhere to VVWH Nursing Standards of Care, AORN, ASPAN, and AWHONN standards
- Participate in professional leadership opportunities such as unit committees, charge nurse duties, and precepting
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Michigan
- Two years of recent or current full-time experience as an RN in an inpatient Labor & Delivery unit
- Ability to successfully complete Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) credentialing within the first three months
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week on Day shift or A-shift during orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- One year of adult Med/Surg RN experience
- Certification in obstetrics specialty or electronic fetal monitoring
- Certification in peri-operative (CNOR) or peri-anesthesia (CPAN) nursing
- ACLS or OB ACLS certification
- Successful completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring course
