Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to the neuro-ophthalmology patient population
• Manage high-risk medications including steroids, IMT, IVIG, and plasmapheresis
• Perform IMT counseling and provide patient education for neurologic and ophthalmic conditions
• Monitor in-basket messages and perform appropriate triage for patients and families
• Document accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Assist providers with clinical assessments, treatments, and direct hospital admissions
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and manage patient education materials

Requirements

• Current nursing licensure in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience providing direct care to adult neurology patients
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and solve problems in a clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Recent experience with telehealth nursing, including phone triage and patient assessment
• Current experience in ambulatory care settings
• Experience with care coordination for infusions and hospital admissions
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• Experience with the ordering and management of Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
