About the role

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a six-month operating room orientation program designed to prepare nurses for perioperative roles
  • Engage in educational training across classroom, laboratory, and patient care settings
  • Work 40 hours per week on a Day/Evening shift rotation
  • Fulfill call and weekend/holiday obligations, including a 30-minute response time commitment
  • Float to designated units as needed during times of low census

Requirements

  • Current Michigan RN license (or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire for Graduate Nurses)
  • Successful completion of the NCLEX
  • Ability to meet call commitments with a 30-minute response time
  • Submission of a complete and accurate resume
  • Commitment to working in the UH-OR for at least two years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous operating room experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stress, conflict, and resolution
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to work with a non-responsive patient population
