Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 12-week graduate nurse internship program designed to prepare new nurses for pediatric general care roles
• Complete a combination of educational sessions and precepted bedside clinical experience
• Provide care for pediatric patients ranging from infants to young adults on a medical-surgical unit
• Support patients requiring specialized care in areas such as orthopedics, trauma, neurology, and endocrinology
• Maintain a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week for two years following the internship

Requirements

• Graduate Nurse or newly licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan (must not have practiced as an RN yet)
• Successful completion of the NCLEX prior to the internship start date
• Ability to start the program on October 8th, 2026
• Ability to commit to a two-year employment period
• Physical ability to stand, walk, position, and lift heavy patients and objects for long periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a nurse extern or inpatient technician
• Experience working with children and youth
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative in professional growth
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
