About the role

Responsibilities

  • Function as a scrub and circulating nurse in a fast-paced outpatient ophthalmic operating room setting
  • Apply critical thinking skills for patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Manage multiple interventions simultaneously and solve problems in a collaborative manner
  • Navigate specialized computer programs including ORMIS, MiChart, DICOM, and Storz recording systems
  • Operate and navigate ophthalmic equipment and systems
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and their families
  • Participate in on-call coverage for overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as required
  • Assist with patient transport and room preparation between cases

Requirements

  • Current nursing licensure in the State of Michigan
  • BSN degree (required for external candidates)
  • Minimum of two years of recent Perioperative RN experience (within the last 3 years)
  • Proven experience performing both scrub and circulating duties as an RN

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent RN Ophthalmology surgical expertise
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery
  • Perioperative experience in head/neck surgeries
  • CNOR certification
