Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level specialty care for patients within a 24-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU)
• Manage complex medical problems including thrombectomies, post-operative craniotomies, cerebral aneurysms, and intracranial hemorrhages
• Monitor and treat severe head and spinal cord injuries, increased intracranial pressure, and traumatic brain injuries (TBI)
• Perform specialized tasks such as tracheostomy care/management, doppler usage, and assessing free flaps
• Support patients from neurosurgery, neurology, stroke, otolaryngology, and oral maxillofacial surgery services
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient advocacy and care

Requirements

• Current Michigan RN license
• 1 year of ICU experience
• Valid ACLS certification solely through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 36-hour per week schedule with every other weekend rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• CCRN certification
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong patient advocate mentality and teamwork approach
