Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care for infants, children, and adolescents in a technology-intensive Pediatric Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit (PCTU)
• Perform complex physiologic patient assessments in a high-intensity environment for patients with rapidly changing status
• Utilize advanced medical technologies including ECMO, CRRT, and VADs
• Partner closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and fellows to deliver specialized medical and surgical care
• Implement family-centered care by providing individual support and education to families throughout the admission process

Requirements

• Current Michigan Registered Nurse License
• 12-24 months of experience in a PICU, NICU, Children's unit, or Adult Emergency Department
• PALS certification (must be obtained within six months of hire or prior to the end of the probationary period)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including rotating weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• Knowledge of and experience with the congenital heart patient population
• ACLS certification
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, problem-solving, and collaborative skills
• Proficiency in the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care
