About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective nursing care to congenital and acquired heart disease patients ranging from newborns to adults
- Deliver pre- and post-procedural care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
- Administer medications and provide vital sign and EKG monitoring for chemical stress testing
- Provide triage support for pediatric cardiology patients
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide family-centered care in a highly technical environment
Requirements
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent Moderate or Critical Care RN experience caring for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, OR minimum of three (3) years of recent Pediatric PACU experience
- Demonstrated understanding of common congenital heart defects and indicated surgical corrections
- Ability to obtain PALS certification within 6 months of hire
- Ability to stand, walk, position, pull, or lift patients and objects for long periods
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree
- Pediatric Cardio-Thoracic ICU experience
- Procedural sedation experience
- Current PALS certification
