About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in various ambulatory care settings, specifically focusing on pediatric medical and surgical specialty clinics
  • Assess patient needs and assist with medical issues related to health concerns
  • Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient messages
  • Utilize electronic protocol databases to assess, educate, and document all health information accurately
  • Collaborate with providers to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses
  • Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote continuity of care
  • Assist with patient flow, procedures, and telephone management as needed
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and patient/family education

Requirements

  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN)
  • Three (3) years of RN experience within the last three years caring for pediatric patients in inpatient medical/surgical units, ICU, or Ambulatory Care
  • Proficiency with electronic health record documentation and typing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical issues using assessment skills and evidence-based interventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN degree
  • Ambulatory Care experience with telephone triage/symptom management within the last two years
  • Experience as a float RN within the last three years
  • Proficiency with MiChart/Epic electronic health record management
