Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing and psychotherapy to patients with substance use disorders within the RAAM clinic and Addiction Outpatient Program
• Apply nursing science, theory, and critical decision-making to deliver compassionate and competent care
• Ensure practice aligns with the ethical framework and professional standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Perform concurrent disorders assessment and intervention
• Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve the quality of patient care
• Provide coverage to the Injection Clinic and Substance Use Intervention Team (SUIT) as required

Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or addiction nursing
• Experience in psychotherapy (CBT, DBT) and motivational interviewing
• Basic Life Support (B.L.S.) certification
• Ability to obtain certification in CBT/DBT/MI within 2 years of hiring

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an outpatient addiction setting
• Experience employing trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and equity-enhancing approaches
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Canadian Nurses Association Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
• CPI certification in NVCI
