About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing and psychotherapy to patients with substance use disorders within the RAAM clinic and Addiction Outpatient Program
- Apply nursing science, theory, and critical decision-making to deliver compassionate and competent care
- Ensure practice aligns with the ethical framework and professional standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Perform concurrent disorders assessment and intervention
- Participate in continuing education and reflective practice to improve the quality of patient care
- Provide coverage to the Injection Clinic and Substance Use Intervention Team (SUIT) as required
Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or addiction nursing
- Experience in psychotherapy (CBT, DBT) and motivational interviewing
- Basic Life Support (B.L.S.) certification
- Ability to obtain certification in CBT/DBT/MI within 2 years of hiring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an outpatient addiction setting
- Experience employing trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and equity-enhancing approaches
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Canadian Nurses Association Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- CPI certification in NVCI
