About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care for patients and families
- Use theoretical and empirical knowledge to plan and implement care for patients with dementia
- Educate patients, families, and community providers regarding care of older adults with dementia
- Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums and family conferences
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to students and new staff
- Comply with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing
- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Ability to perform essential clinical duties
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Computer literacy in word processing and Electronic Patient Record (EPR)
- Ability to work cohesively with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program
