Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care for patients and families
• Use theoretical and empirical knowledge to plan and implement care for patients with dementia
• Educate patients, families, and community providers regarding care of older adults with dementia
• Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums and family conferences
• Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to students and new staff
• Comply with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies

Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing
• Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Ability to perform essential clinical duties
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Computer literacy in word processing and Electronic Patient Record (EPR)
• Ability to work cohesively with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program
