About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop therapeutic alliances with clients and collaborate on treatment plans
  • Manage patients exhibiting disorganized, disinhibited, or aggressive behavior
  • Perform mental status assessments and peer consultations
  • Administer psycho-tropic medications and monitor side effects
  • Conduct ECT procedure pre/post assessments
  • Provide patient and family support and facilitate interdisciplinary groups
  • Assist with discharge planning

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Two years of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Emerging leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Group facilitation skills
