About the role
Responsibilities
- Apply nursing science, theory, and critical decision-making to provide compassionate and competent care
- Ensure practice aligns with professional standards and ethical frameworks outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Participate in continuing education and lifelong learning to meet patient population needs
- Perform reflective practice to evaluate and improve nursing knowledge and patient care quality
- Execute cross-functional responsibilities as assigned within the Emergency Department
Requirements
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary patient care team
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BScN degree
- Coronary Course 1 (CC1)
- Cardiac monitoring skills
- CNA Neuroscience Certification
- Neurovascular or Geriatric experience
- Completion of a recognized Emergency Certificate
