Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care for patients and families
• Implement care plans for patients admitted to the Spinal Cord program using theoretical and empirical knowledge
• Educate patients, families, and community providers regarding rehabilitation nursing philosophy
• Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums, rounds, and family conferences
• Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to students and new staff
• Ensure compliance with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies

Requirements

• Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (C level) Heart Saver Plus (Canada)
• Strong health assessment skills
• Ability to work rotational shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)
• Computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
• Experience with spinal cord injury population
• Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) or OARN (SIG)
