Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent nursing care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model
• Ensure all nursing practice meets the legal and ethical standards outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Utilize nursing science, theory, and critical decision-making to manage patient care in the Hematology and Medical Oncology department
• Perform physical assessments and detect changes in patient status promptly
• Participate in continuous professional development and reflective practice to improve quality of care
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams within a patient-focused care model

Requirements

• Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Chemotherapy certification
• Proven experience in the care of clients with oncologic disorders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to function independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) care
• Oncology certification
• BMT certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
