Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Promote holistic health through nursing care for residents with gerontological, chronic, palliative, and complex care needs
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individual care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Perform nursing procedures including catheter care, sterile/non-sterile dressing, and stoma care
• Monitor and report changes or concerns in resident conditions to the appropriate medical staff
• Direct LPNs and RCAs in the day-to-day care of residents
• Complete all assigned RAI/MDS assessments and participate in Resident Care Conferences
• Ensure resident safety and report any suspicion of resident abuse immediately

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing or graduation from a recognized nursing program
• Current full practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
• Ability to perform the physical and mental duties required of the position
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Willingness to undergo applicable background and abuse registry screenings
