Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and comprehensive resident assessments in accordance with CNO standards and the Fixing Long-Term Care Act
• Act as the Nurse in Charge during assigned shifts, providing clinical leadership and supervision to RPNs and PSWs
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for therapeutic and adverse effects
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, care plans, and monitoring records using PointClickCare (PCC)
• Manage risk and follow up on incidents including falls, medication errors, and infection control issues
• Coordinate resident care services and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Manage after-hours operations, including clinical emergencies and staffing resource coordination

Requirements

• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Current CPR Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
• Proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC) or similar electronic health record systems
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a Long-Term Care environment
• Experience serving as a Charge Nurse or Nurse in Charge
• Knowledge of PCC Risk Management modules
• Additional education in Gerontology, Wound Care, Palliative Care, or Dementia Care
