Registered Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform direct nursing care for patients using the nursing process
• Collaborate with physicians to assess, design, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Initiate patient assessments and utilize interviewing skills to identify chief complaints
• Coordinate and prioritize diagnostic testing based on individualized patient needs
• Handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner
• Maintain effective verbal and written communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Ensure a safe environment by enforcing infection control and safety practices
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care in accordance with policy
• Serve as a resource, mentor, and leader for professional peers and fellow employees

Requirements

• 1 year of Emergency Department or Med/Surg experience
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN degree
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Illinois (or valid temporary permit)
• Recent acute care experience within the last 5 years
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Ability to obtain ACLS certification within 1 year of hire
• Ability to obtain PALS certification within 2 years of hire
