About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to patients seeking reproductive health services, including intake, patient education, and surgical support
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and perform nursing duties in patient assessment, surgery, and recovery
- Perform ultrasounds for medical and surgical patients and ensure image quality for gestational purposes
- Prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests according to CLIA standards
- Educate patients regarding contraception, post-operative instructions, and follow-up exams
- Maintain accurate patient data in EMR/EHR systems and adhere to documentation standards
- Monitor pre- and post-surgical patients in the recovery area, focusing on medical and emotional needs
- Participate in a rotating on-call program to address patient concerns when health centers are closed
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Current RN License in Kansas
- BLS certification
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience
- Minimum of one year of women's health care experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a surgical setting
- Prior experience with sonography
- Working knowledge of Epic EMR
- Bilingual skills
Benefits
- Starting salary range of $34.00-$38.00 per hour
- $2,500 sign-on bonus payable after 60 days of successful employment
- 13 paid holidays per year, including a full holiday week in December
- Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation and sick leave
- Paid parental leave (100% base salary for 6 weeks) after 12 months of full-time employment
