Registered Nurse (RN) - New to Practice

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assessing physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status using age-specific data.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Perform and document ongoing assessments, including physical examinations and monitoring of laboratory/test results.
• Utilize the Relationship-Based Care Professional Practice Model to guide all interactions with patients, families, and staff.
• Prioritize nursing interventions and coordinate discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain professional accountability through continuous learning, participation in quality initiatives, and commitment to evidence-based practice.
• Communicate pertinent patient information effectively using the SBAR format.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing (or enrollment in an RN-BSN/MSN program within one year of hire).
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Strong clinical assessment skills appropriate to various patient ages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle stressful situations professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a specialty area or participation in a nursing internship/residency program.
• ONS Provider Card (if assigned to specific medical-surgical units).
