Registered Nurse RN Intake

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-admission assessments and referrals
• Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care
• Provide information about mental health-related services
• Create an environment that fosters healing, growth, and long-term wellness

Requirements

• Current California RN License
• Current BLS for healthcare provider card
• Knowledge of DSM III-R diagnostic criteria
• Knowledge of patient rights and mental health laws
• Ability to manage crisis and potentially combative patients
• Outstanding oral communication, assessment, and intervention skills
• Ability to concentrate in high traffic areas
• Therapeutic Options™ (TOT) certification required prior to independent patient care
