Registered Nurse (RN), ICU

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform direct nursing care for patients in the ICU using the nursing process
• Collaborate with physicians to assess, design, implement, and evaluate patient care plans and outcomes
• Demonstrate complex nursing skills and delegate tasks to care team members according to unit competencies
• Monitor the quality of patient care and ensure high levels of patient satisfaction
• Serve as a resource, preceptor, mentor, and leader for physicians and professional peers
• Maintain daily operations of the Patient Care Center effectively and efficiently
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and corporate compliance requirements

Requirements

• Associate's degree in nursing or higher from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Illinois RN Licensure or a valid temporary permit to practice in the State of Illinois
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Acute care or related nursing experience within the last five years

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CCRN certification or completion of a critical care course within one year of employment
• Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) program
• Completion of basic ECG class
• Completion of code leader and sheath removal programs
• NIH Certification
