About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing and personal care in accordance with CNO standards and resident care plans
- Apply evidence-informed decision making to support residents’ physical, psychological, and social needs
- Ensure family and resident-centered care that promotes dignity and autonomy
- Support safe and timely admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Maintain accountability for the secure administration and control of medications and treatments, including narcotics
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and provide leadership to RPNs and PSWs
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and follow established protocols
- Contribute to a culture of safety and quality improvement
Requirements

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shift lengths (8 or 12 hours)
- Ability to work in different units within a healthcare facility based on staffing needs
