Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model
• Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Participate in continuing education activities to meet patient population needs and professional standards
• Perform reflective practice to evaluate nursing knowledge and improve patient care quality
• Support various surgical specialties including neurosurgery, spine, orthopedic, hand/plastic, general, urology, and ophthalmic surgery

Requirements

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
• BScN degree or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized certified operating room nursing course
• Membership in the Perioperative Nurse Association
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics or image-guided brain and spinal surgery
