Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity surgical environment
• Apply nursing science, theory, and critical decision-making skills in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model
• Ensure all practice is consistent with professional standards and ethical frameworks outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Participate in continuous professional development and lifelong learning to meet the needs of a complex patient population
• Perform reflective practice to evaluate nursing knowledge and modify practice to improve patient care quality
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care for highly acute patients

Requirements

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Completion of a recognized Operating Room (Perioperative) course
• 2-4 years of recent Operating Room experience
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to exercise initiative, good judgment, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.)
