Registered Nurse Neurosciences Intermediate

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients in a 24-bed neurosciences unit requiring medical and surgical treatment for acute neurological and spine disorders
• Manage care for conditions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal injury, seizures, and CNS infections
• Support neurosurgical patients undergoing aneurysm repair, lumbar drain management, and post-operative spinal care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and maintain top-tier patient satisfaction

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a specific neurosciences or acute clinical area
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN)
• Emergency Communications Registered Nurse certification
