About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care across various Ambulatory Care settings, primarily within Internal Medicine Specialty Clinics
- Assess patient needs and assist with medical issues related to health concerns
- Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient messages
- Utilize electronic protocol databases to assess, educate, and document health information accurately
- Collaborate with providers to determine patient disposition and clinical standards of care
- Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Assist with patient flow, telephone management, and patient/family education
- Participate in performance improvement activities and clinical orientation for team members
Requirements
- Current Michigan RN license
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience working with adult medicine patients
- 2 years of RN experience within the last 3 years in adult inpatient medical/surgical units, ICU, or Ambulatory Care
- 2 years of experience within the last 5 years caring for adults with acute or chronic conditions in ambulatory care or GI procedural settings
- Proficiency with MiChart/Epic electronic health record documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree
- Experience with ambulatory care telephone triage and symptom management
- Experience working as a float RN
- Experience performing patient education for individuals or groups
