About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in various ambulatory care settings, primarily within the Rogel Cancer Center Clinics.
- Assess patient needs, manage medical issues, and assist with clinical procedures.
- Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient communications.
- Triage and assess high-acuity patients, manage medication administration, and respond to clinic emergencies.
- Perform port maintenance and provide therapy and procedural education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including providers, infusion, scheduling, and lab management, to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and manage daily clinic operations.
- Utilize electronic health records to accurately document all health information and patient education.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 18 months of oncology RN experience within the last five (5) years.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree.
- OCN certification.
- Ambulatory Care experience, including telephone triage and symptom management within the last three years.
- Experience as an Ambulatory Care Float RN.
