Registered Nurse - Mental Health

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, person-centred mental health care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment.
• Conduct mental health assessments, develop care plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions.
• Perform crisis intervention, risk assessments, medication administration, and psychoeducation.
• Promote culturally sensitive, safe, and respectful care that upholds the dignity and rights of individuals in detention.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement, including policy development and quality initiatives.

Requirements

• AHPRA-registered Nurse (General, unrestricted registration).
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in mental health (non-telehealth) plus a post-graduate qualification in mental health.
• OR a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Mental Health Registered Nurse without a post-graduate qualification.
