About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Conduct mental state examinations, risk assessments, crisis intervention, and formulation
- Provide evidence-based mental health interventions and therapeutic support
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and collaborative care planning
- Support crisis management planning and ongoing risk mitigation strategies
- Coordinate access to appropriate primary and specialist health services
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including EMR records and discharge summaries
- Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, legislation, and organisational policies
Requirements
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Either a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health (AQF Level 8 or higher) with minimum 5 years’ specialist MH experience, OR a minimum of 7 years’ specialist Mental Health nursing experience
- Extensive experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic care
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning skills
- Experience in correctional health, forensic mental health, or AOD services is highly regarded
