About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest degree of quality resident care is delivered and maintained at all times
- Provide strong supervision, performance management, leadership, and coaching for nursing staff
- Train and onboard nursing team members to uphold NLCS standards of service excellence
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident care and implement changes
- Monitor staffing, unit activities, and acuity to ensure safe and appropriate coverage
- Conduct regular rounds on assigned units to monitor resident activity and care quality
- Verify care activity and documentation to ensure compliance with physician orders and facility policies
- Ensure safe and accurate medication administration
- Review and support accurate completion of resident assessments, MDS, and individualized plans of care
- Maintain infection control, wound, and lab logs to support regulatory compliance
- Conduct coaching conversations and stay interviews to build team engagement and retention
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in the state of employment
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Experience in geriatric and/or subacute nursing
- Experience with medication and treatment administration
- Experience with unit and/or house supervision
- Proficiency with computer-based electronic medical records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Proven leadership and coaching skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of COMAR, Office of Health Care Quality, and CMS guidelines
- Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing Assistant and RN scope of practice
